Linguini is a premium restaurant business WordPress theme sold on ThemeForest.net for $45. Of the restaurant themes we have reviewed so far (The Restaurant, My Cuisine and Pub & Restaurant), Linguini is the best. It is responsive on mobile devices and has all the core functionality needed. The only things preventing it from being a 5 star theme have are image gallery management and food/drink menu flexibility. We’ll break our review into the different aspects of the theme followed by the conclusion.

Squirrel is a very basic WordPress theme offered by InkThemes as part of their $149 one time fee plus $15/month subscription plan or a one time cost of $45. For a premium theme, and for even a subscription theme, Squirrel is way below par. We highly recommend readers to not use this theme for any project. The Chameleon theme, part of the ElegantThemes $39/year subscription plan, is a much better alternative.

The Restaurant is a premium WordPress theme sold on ThemeForest.net for $45. While there is some pretty nice functionality such as menus, widget enabled content areas and flexible slider layouts, we were not very impressed with the theme. We recommend reader also look at the Pub & Restaurant theme from Mojo-Themes before using The Restaurant; it has about the same functionality and is slightly lower priced.

GeoPlaces is a Yelp like local review theme sold by Templatic.com for either $99 for the theme itself or as part of their theme club ($299 one time fee plus $9 / month). For any type web design studio, we recommend joining the theme club as Templatic has a lot of unique themes available. The GeoPlace theme is fairly massive and to keep the review simple, we start from the beginning (how a reader would first see your site) and work our way through the different screens. One thing to note is that the documentation packaged with the theme is not very descriptive; you’ll need to spend a good amount of time figuring out how to configure the different options.

Replete is a premium eCommerce theme sold on ThemeForest.net for $55. When used with the WooCommerece plugin, Replete is an extremely powerful theme for any eCommerce website. Even through there are is some great functionality built in with this theme, a lack of quality documentation makes it somewhat difficult to use. We spent a decent amount of time trying to replicate the authors demo, but just couldn’t figure a few things out. We’ll talk them in detail in our review below.
5 AdSense Alternatives
When you’re just starting a blog, Ad Sense is a great tool to earn money. In as little as five minutes, ads can be set up and running on your WordPress site. Overtime, the site will start earning revenue as more people visit the site and (hopefully) click on ads. Even though Ad Sense is incredibly simple to set up, it’s ads often have very low CPM (cost per thousand impressions) and CPC (cost per click) rates. Additionally, web site owners cannot specify if only CPC or CPM ads appear on their site; Google decides this.
As the site becomes more popular, the obvious question of how to increase revenue will arise. Rather than rely on having your revenues grow by simply getting more traffic, a better option is to switch to a higher paying ad network. The ad networks shown below all have higher payment rates than Ad Sense but also requires sites to have a certain number of monthly visitors.

Higher is a premium responsive portfolio theme sold on ThemeForest.net for $55. Overall, we were only moderately impressed with this theme. It has some great features and a nice mobile response, but does not have the wow factor expected for a premium theme. For any designer looking for a portfolio theme, Adapt and King Size are better options. For our review, we’ll break down the theme by the different features to make it easier to follow.

Kassyopea is a two in one premium theme offered on ThemeForest.net for $55. The theme can function as either a theme for an eCommerce site or a theme for a business website. For this review we’ll focus on the eCommerce functionality and look at the business theme in the future. To use the theme for an eCommerce store, the WP eCommerce plug-in is required; we used version 3.8.9.5 for our test. To make the review easier, we’ll break it into separate sections for different functionality.
